District is a real estate development company based out of Vancouver. The challenge was to design a website who’s main audience are capital investors. District needed to look credible, sophisticated and constantly up to something new. Other audiences include potential renters and people in the community, whose main reason for visiting the site is to see if District is real and to get a sense of who they are.
Overall we gave the site more life by adding full colour images, full width images, white backgrounds and adding in the District teal colour. We’ve reduced the use of grey backgrounds and added white to make the site seem brighter and lighter. All copy has been reduced in size and headings are now in the teal brand colour. The home page has changed the most. The focus is now on the projects. We feel that the site is both sophisticated and engaging. By using full width images and colours we’ve created visual interest. Overall the site is easier to navigate and digest. Now when a user goes to the website they should know what kind of company District is and what kinds of projects they do, right away.
