The Logo

The symbol is a play on a fractured uppercase “A”, turning it into a graphic tree. We paired it with a modern and minimal wordmark as to not take the attention away from the mark. A simple wordmark also makes the icon look more refined. The symbol has positive connotations because it looks like an upwards arrow. This represents Port Alberni’s economy, tourist industry and real estate industries continuous growth.

About This Project

Anderson Hill is an upcoming community in Port Alberni. The community will be a mix of heritage, playing on the forestry industry, while showing that Anderson Hill is a fresh and modern place to live. The challenge for this identity was to create a brand that was inviting, minimalist and non-pretentious.

This visual identity celebrates the environment surrounding Anderson Hill, having the forest right in the backyard. This identity shows nature in a sleek, more contemporary way. We were inspired by old forest industry logos, where they often have a full scene of trees, mountains, etc.
